Interns are an important part of the Daredevils summer staff, providing a helping hand to the staff and players as well as gaining hands-on experience in many different aspects of managing a sports team. Marketing & promotion, sports management, retail and service support, public relations and event coordination are just some of the activities our summer interns will participate in. Read on to learn more about our intern positions on the beautiful Outer Banks.  INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES: 2010 Season
Assist with promotions, sales, advertising, in preparation for the 2010 Coastal Plain League Season. Intern(s) will work with full-time staff in organizing, and coordinating details of marketing, and promotional efforts including on-field promotions, game sponsorships, corporate and group parties, special events, writing press releases and updating the Daredevils website. Other activities will include direct contact with the media, sponsors, host families, and community leaders. Intern(s) will also have an opportunity to work on special assignments, which may include celebrity appearances, autograph sessions, outdoor advertising and radio/TV, webcasting, PA announcer and write articles for the Daredevils newsletter. Marketing, P.R., Communications, Sports Administration or Sports Management majors preferred. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills are helpful. Intern Position Available: Position(s)are offered for the 2010 summer only from mid-May thru mid-August. A host family will house an intern during the season. The intern job is a non-paid position. However, there is an opportunity for the intern(s) to work at one of sponsor’s businesses or other establishments on the Outer Banks. The intern(s) hours are flexible. The intern(s) will be required to work nights when the Outer Banks Daredevils baseball games are at home and must be available during the major events. Intern(s) will gain valuable experience in an exciting, fast-moving environment at one of the top 10 vacation destinations in the world.
