The Outer Banks Daredevils Baseball Club has set dates for the 2010 Starting Lineup Baseball Camp presented by Outer Banks Blue Realty. Last year the camp expanded dates with success, and again there are more days than ever to accommodate busy schedules.
The first skills camp is from Monday, June 21 to Thursday, June 24 and the second from Monday, July 12 to Thursday, July 15. Both will cover the same fundamentals for boys and girls of all ages from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at First Flight Baseball Complex.
In between the skills camps with be two two-day specialty camps. The first, which will focus on pitchers and catchers, is from Monday, July 5 to Tuesday, July 6. The second, focusing on hitters, is from Wednesday, July 7 to Thursday, July 8.
Participants will receive a 2010 Starting Lineup camp T-shirt and a ticket good to any regular season Daredevils home game. Costs for the skills camp are $80 and $55 for the specialty camps.
The camp will also have three coaches helping in Outer Banks head coach Jeff Wicker and assistants Tyler Noel of Penn State-Altoona and Josh Eachues of South Carolina-Aiken. It will also include teaching by Daredevils players.
"Coach Wicker has done an excellent job with the camps dating back to 2008," Daredevils General Manager Owen Hassell said. "I expect nothing less in 2010 along with the work of our assistant coaches and players. It's quality instruction at a good price."

Outer Banks is a member of the Coastal Plain League, the nation's hottest hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Heading into its 14th season with 15 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, the CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with wooden bats during the summer months. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts.
