The Outer Banks Daredevils Baseball Club announced the hiring of Ty Reese as the team's assistant coach for the 2011 season. Reese, an assistant at Butler Community College in Kansas, has worked with current Daredevils coach Andy Schatzley for the El Dorado Broncos of the Jayhawk League the past two seasons. |

The Outer Banks Daredevils Baseball Club announced this week the hiring of a new head coach. Andy Schatzley, of Division II school Emporia State in Kansas, will take the reins for the 2011 Daredevils season. |

The Outer Banks Daredevils played spoiler Wednesday in a makeup game at Wilmington, beating the Sharks 7-3. The Daredevils had to travel back to Wilmington to resume a suspended contest from July 17th, when the teams were tied 2-all in the sixth inning. The Sharks lost out on a playoff bid thanks to the Outer Banks victory. |

The Outer Banks Daredevils scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning at First Flight Baseball Complex on Sunday evening but could not rally late, falling to the Edenton Steamers 9-5. The Steamers defeated the Daredevils for the ninth time this season, using an 11-hit arsenal and 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief pitching in back of Anthony Markham (Charleston Southern). |

Holland, who has been spending the summer broadcasting baseball play-by-play for the Outer Banks Daredevils summer collegiate team (of the Coastal Plain League), will finish the season with the Class-A Hagerstown Suns. |

The Outer Banks Daredevils roped 11 hits and received seven innings of scoreless pitching to earn an 8-0 shutout of the Wilson Tobs at First Flight Baseball Complex on Thursday night. Outer Banks starting pitcher David Kubiak (Albany) was masterful through seven frames, allowing just four scattered base hits, while walking one and striking out seven.
